Definition
Account data is stolen at the Merchant and then used for fraudulent purchases at other Merchant locations.
What this means in plain language
You are flagged as the place where card data was stolen before it was used fraudulently somewhere else. Investigators link multiple fraud cases back to transactions at your business, so you appear as the “common point” where the compromise started.
What you can do
If you were listed under MATCH code 2, you can submit a formal removal request to the PSP or acquirer that added you. They will review your case (cause, remediation, corrective actions) and, if satisfied, can request removal from the MATCH list. We help you draft and submit that request.
