MATCH code 7: Fraud Conviction
Official definition and what it means for your removal request.
Definition
There was a criminal fraud conviction of a principal owner or partner of the Merchant.
What this means in plain language
A criminal court convicted an owner or partner of fraud in connection with the business. This is a serious, factual flag: it is about a conviction, not an allegation, and acquirers treat it as high risk for future processing.
What you can do
If you were listed under MATCH code 7, you can submit a formal removal request to the PSP or acquirer that added you. They will review your case (cause, remediation, corrective actions) and, if satisfied, can request removal from the MATCH list. We help you draft and submit that request. See MATCH list removal and all MATCH and VMSS reason codes.
